Lawn Care on Chicago's South Side
Weekly lawn care for the bungalows, two-flats and corner lots that fill the South Side, from a company that is based here.
South Side yards, handled by a South Side company
The South Side stretches south and southeast from the Loop all the way to the Indiana line, and it holds some of the most varied housing in the city. You will find rows of brick bungalows, two-flats with a postage-stamp front lawn, frame cottages and, toward the far south, wider lots with room for a real backyard. Our base is on the Southeast Side, so this is the part of Chicago we work in most.
Large parks help define South Side blocks, among them Washington Park, Jackson Park and Marquette Park, and the mature trees around them reach into the streets and yards nearby. That shade is welcome in July and a chore in October, when the same trees dump a season's worth of leaves.
Customers here tend to care about how the front of the house looks from the street. A clean lawn, sharp edges and a tidy parkway are part of how a block shows pride, and keeping that standard week after week is the whole point of a recurring service.

Bungalow-belt lots
Brick bungalows on narrow lots mean short front lawns with long fence lines. Trimming and edging are a big part of the visit.
Mature trees near the big parks
Blocks around the South Side parks have heavy canopy. That means more shade-tolerant lawn care and more leaf cleanup in the fall.
Salt along the curb
Chicago plows and salts its streets heavily, and the parkway strip takes the brunt. Spring is when that damage shows up.
Corner lots
Corner properties have double the street frontage and a side lawn, which adds trimming and cutting time compared with mid-block lots.
